I have added two more stills from Cheerful Weather for the Wedding to our gallery thanks to the films official facebook page. Don’t forget to watch the newly released film clip below, I am very excited to see this film once it’s released!

Felicity Jones is making a name for herself by being an onscreen persona with some serious relationship issues. The 28-year-old actress just earned a Gotham Award for her performance in the indie hit “Like Crazy” and landed the role of one of Howard Hughes’ love interests in Warren Beatty’s biopic of the eccentric millionaire, and now she’s landed another part as a popular historical figure’s main squeeze. The Daily Mail is reporting that she’ll play Charles Dickens’ mistress of 13 years, Nelly Ternan, in an adaptation of the novel “The Invisible Woman.”

Ralph Fiennes will direct the adaptation, and we’re hoping he’ll star in the film as Dickens as well. Fiennes is hot off his well-received directorial debut “Coriolanus,” which is getting an Oscar run in New York and Los Angeles starting today.

Considering the fact Dickens is one of the most well-known authors in the English language, it’s interesting that few films have been made about his life. According to Amazon, “The Invisible Woman” offers the “fullest account to date of Charles Dickens’s secret 13-year romance with actress Ellen “Nelly” Ternan.” Historical sources point at Ternan for being the reason Dickens separated from his wife Catherine, because the latter accidentally received a bracelet meant for Dickens’ mistress. The two never married.

Filming on “The Invisible Woman” is said to start during spring or summer 2012 with BBC films producing. It will likely be released at some point in 2013.

First of all, let me apologise for the lack of updates on the site – I have been moving into a new flat and have been without internet access. I am currently updating from a friends house, but hopefully I will have reliable online access soon.

While I have been away, Felicity has bagged herself another film role, below is a little information about her new film for you!

Tony Award nominee Amy Ryan, Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce have signed on to star in a new untitled film by Drake Doremus, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The upcoming project has a screenplay co-written by Doremus and Ben York Jones, who previously collaborated on “Like Crazy,” which starred Jones and won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

The film, directed by Doremus, will center on a high school teacher (Pearce), who is tempted to cheat on his wife (Ryan) with one of his students (Jones).

According to various sources, Felicity’s BBC thriller film Page Eight will be shown to audiences at the Edinburgh Film Festival in June this year.

Sir David’s political thriller Page Eight, starring Bill Nighy and Rachel Weisz will have its world premiere at the festival in June.

Other highlights include Scottish director David Mackenzie’s new sci-fi thriller Perfect Sense.

It features Trainspotting stars Ewan McGregor and Ewen Bremner.

The film festival, which runs from 15 to 26 June, has had a difficult year.

Its previous director, Hannah McGill, quit in August and the event has lost major funding awards and sponsors.

The organisers decided on a new approach which would include fewer new features, no red-carpet events and no awards.

Sadly this means that is it unlikely we will have any new red carpet photos of Felicity, but hopefully the film will be picked up by a studio and will be released more widely for the rest of the world to see!

A short clip of the film was shown on the BBC in April, and someone has kindly uploaded the full collection of drama clips to youtube. Felicity is not featured, but if you would like to watch the clip, I have embedded the video below for ease.

If anyone would like to see Felicity perform on stage, it seems she will be returning to the Donmar Warehouse from June 8th – July 30th to reprise the title role of Luise in Schiller’s Luise Mille:

Michael Grandage’s penultimate directorial work at the Donmar. Poulton and Grandage teamed up together on Schiller’s Don Carlos which was Grandage’s final production at Sheffield Theatres in 2004. This play, sometimes known as Intrigue and Love was written by the German dramatist in 1784. Ferdinand, son of the most powerful statesman in Germany is ready to give up everything for the love of Luise Miller, the daughter of a musician. Felicity Jones plays Luise, returning to the Donmar after her performance in Grandage’s The Chalk Garden.

Thanks to Hillie for the tip, I have been able to find an add 3 small promotional images of Felicity in Albatross, I’m glad to see her pretty long hair again!

The Cliff House Hotel: Beth Fisher is cramming for her exams in deperation to escape to university, dad Jonathan, once the bright young thing of the literary world, is suffering from writer’s block. Wife Joa runs their hotel but resents it, him and everyone around her as she gave up her ‘promising career as and actress’ for this.

Their world is soon turned upside down when seventeen-year-old aspiring writer Emelia starts a new job at the hotel. Building a friendship with Beth and embarking on a love affair with Jonathan, secrets are revealed and relationships explode as the threads of the story collide and unravel. Can Emelia get rid of the Albatross that hangs around her neck and rewrite herself?

(If anybody can find these photos in a larger size I would be very grateful to receive them!)

IndieWire has sadly reported that Felicity is no longer attached to Trap for Cinderella, and her role has gone to unknown actress Tuppence Middleton instead.

For smaller independent producers, the problem with your long-atttached star suddenly generating new heat is that they’re flooded with new offers; bigger films, more tempting films. As such, it can be hard to keep their interest— Carey Mulligan, for instance, dropped out of British indie “This Beautiful Fantastic” in favor of “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” after “An Education” blew up. That same issue now faces Iain Softley and his psychodrama “Trap for Cinderella.”The project, based on the novel by “A Very Long Engagement” writer Sebastian Japrisot, involves a girl, Micky, who wakes up badly burned after a fire in which her best friend, Do, died.  It was formally announced back in November, with rising stars Felicity Jones and Imogen Poots set to take the two leads, and filming was meant to kick off in February. However, it being March, the film clearly hasn’t gotten underway, and it’s likely that the heat behind its two lead actresses may have caused the problems.

It seems that Felicity’s commitment to British project Page Eight, and comedy Cheerful Weather for the Wedding have left her unable to film Trap for Cinderella.

My apologies for the late update, while I was away Felicity attended two new events; a screening for The Tempest, alongside Helen Mirren, and the German premiere for Chalet Girl, looking very pretty in two striking outfits.

Edwin has also been kind enough to let us know that Felicity’s broadcast The Chalk Garden is going to be aired on Radio 3 this Sunday at 8pm, so be sure to check in!

Last, but certainly not least, I have discovered a lovely little interview on WalesOnline about Felicity’s increasing rise to fame:

Despite working in an industry where everyone prides themselves on having every hair in place, Felicity Jones is refreshingly honest about her own grooming.

The moment we meet to discuss her latest film, she tells me her shirt smells.

“I borrowed it. I think it’s been worn before as I can smell someone else’s sweat, so I apologise,” she says matter-of-factly…

Felicity’s new film Like Crazy premiered at the Sundance Film Festival yesterday to rave reviews, the film has already been picked as the first major deal of the festival and has been sold to Paramount Pictures. This means that is is likely to appear in cinemas for the general public sometime later this year!

Critics are including some brilliant reviews about Felicity’s role, hailing her as this years Carey Mulligan – her successful co-star from Northanger Abbey who has has a wonderful year in the industry thus far.

According to Mr. Doremus, Ms. Jones (living in London) made an audition tape of herself doing a scene from the script — a shower scene — and sent it to Mr. Doremus, who was in Los Angeles. She was immediately cast in the role. He promised the choice of scene had nothing to do with the decision.
