Felicity has been cast in a new BBC 2 crime thriller, according to digitalspy.co.uk!
BBC Two has announced an all-star cast for its new thriller Page Eight.
The show, which is David Hare’s first original screenplay for 20 years, will feature actors including Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Judy Davis, Michael Gambon and Ralph Fiennes.
The drama follows Nighy’s character Johnny, a long-serving MI5 officer who is shocked when his boss and best friend Benedict (Gambon) dies suddenly, leaving him a mysterious file.
Meanwhile, Johnny has a seemingly chance encounter with his next-door neighbour Nancy (Weisz), a political activist. Eventually he ends up walking out of his job and “out of his identity” to find out the truth.
The cast also includes Ewen Bremner, Felicity Jones, Tom Hughes, Alice Krige and Saskia Reeves.
Hare said: “The last decade has been as testing as any in the history of the British intelligence community – the compromises and dilemmas they’ve faced in the new century make a fascinating story. I’m thrilled to be working with such an extraordinary ensemble of great actors.”
Filming for Page Eight will begin this month and the film will air later this year.
Be in with a chance to see Felicity’s new film Like Crazy – it looks like it’s creating quite a buzz in the film industry!
One of the biggest draws at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, later this month is the romantic dramedy “Like Crazy.” It premieres on Saturday, Jan. 23, in the cavernous 1,700-seat Eccles Theater at the festival, and as of now, the premiere screening is sold out.
So you can buy your ticket to Park City and get on the waiting list to possibly get a last-minute seat at the screening. Or you can stay in Madison and see it at Sundance Cinemas five days later.
Last year, the “Sundance Film Festival USA” program brought eight films to eight cities around the country, along with their filmmakers, just days after they premiered at the festival. Madison was lucky enough to get “The Runaways,” and as a bonus, former Runaways lead singer Cherie Currie was at the sold-out Madison screening.
This year, we get “Like Crazy,” on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. at (naturally) Sundance Cinemas, 702 N. Midvale Blvd. Filmmaker Drake Doremus (who premiered the unforgettably titled “Douchebag” at last year’s festival) and a couple of other filmmakers will be present at the Madison screening. And I’ll be moderating a post-show discussion with them.
While “Douchebag” was a wry, improv-heavy comedy with a bitingly honest heart, “Like Crazy” seems to be a real tonal departure for Doremus. It stars Anton Yelchin (Chekov from the “Star Trek” reboot) as an American college student who falls in love with a Brit (Felicity Jones) while in Los Angeles. After college, the pair are forced into a cross-continental long-distance relationship that really puts their love to the test.
Tickets for the Madison screening of “Like Crazy” are $15 and are on sale now at the Sundance box office or through sundancecinemas.com. It should be a memorable night.
